Common Questions

Things families often ask

What happens during the first meeting?
The first meeting is a quiet, private session in our Khon Kaen office. We listen first, then ask only the questions we need to understand the estate. By the end, we provide a plain-language summary of the situation and an outline of realistic next steps. There is no obligation to proceed further.
How long does settling an estate typically take?
Straightforward estates — where assets are clear and all heirs agree — are often settled within one to three months. More complex situations, particularly where property or business interests are involved, may take longer. We give you an honest estimate at the initial meeting and keep you informed of any changes.
Do I need to come to the office, or can matters be handled remotely?
Many clients manage most of the process remotely through correspondence, signed documents sent by post or courier, and telephone consultations. We do ask that at least the initial meeting takes place in person where possible, though we understand there are circumstances where that is not feasible and we accommodate accordingly.
What if there is a disagreement among the heirs?
Disputes among heirs are more common than many families expect. We handle these matters with care, always exploring whether a negotiated resolution is possible before any formal proceedings are considered. Our full dispute handling service covers representation through to resolution, with a closing report provided at the end.
Are your fees fixed, and what is included?
Our fees are stated clearly before any work begins. The Inheritance Review Meeting is ฿4,300 and includes a written summary. Estate Settlement Support is ฿9,600 and includes managed administration. Full Dispute Handling is ฿17,000 including a closing report. Where third-party disbursements apply — such as court filings or Land Department fees — these are itemised separately and agreed with you in advance.
How is my information kept private?
All information shared with us is subject to legal professional privilege and our own strict confidentiality obligations. We do not discuss client matters with third parties without explicit written consent, and our files are maintained securely in accordance with Thai data protection requirements.
